Yesterday, December 2nd 2014, the municipal Police of Barcelona presented their new 45 vehicles that have been incorporated to its fleet in Montjuïc . These vehicles will try to improve efficiency, effectiveness and maximize citizens’ quality.
The model of these new 45 vehicles is Seat Altea XL, which 36 includes the municipal Police logotype and the rest of them are undercover vehicles. “The vehicles will be used for patrolling the city and improve our service”, informed Barcelona’s local government in a press notice.

Federal Signal Vama, has done a complete vehicle integration, including a lightbar with priority lights and emergency acoustic system, voice emission, GPS that allows to locate the fleet, integrated PC, an alcoholic breath-testing instrument and a furniture to store material.

For half of the vehicles that contain the police logotype, the same company has been the responsible to integrate the prisoner transport kits. Furthermore, a certain number of them add a separation wall between front and back seats and the trunk. Belt fixation is made from the door side and they can be blocked at any time by the municipal.
In the other hand, the 9 undercover vehicles are equipped with hidden blue lights in the rear of the trunk and in the front part of the vehicle, a speaker with public address and a magnetic beacon or warning light.
