Last November 21st 2014, Madrid SAMUR added to its fleet 45 new ambulances and mobile ICUs with the last technology.Within the initial proposal of renewing practically its total fleet (80%), 90 new vehicles will be acquired before March 2015.
A lighted panel in the rear part of the vehicle informing of the state of it, either going to the hospital with a patient or going to an accident is a sample of some of the lasts technologies included in these vehicles. Thanks to this, SAMUR ambulances are the “first sanitary service that includes them”, informed Enrique Núñez, Emergency and Security representative, accompanied by Ana Botella, Madrid’s Mayor. This panel is extremely important in circumstances when “very low speed” is required, as happens when the ambulance carries a person that suffers multi injures.

These new vehicles are marked with three yellow and red reflecting material levels that work together with an exterior LEDs Lightbar, combined with Led lights in the frontal and back part of the vehicle that provides maximum luminosity, which will reduce the siren noise at night. Furthermore, they consume less and are more efficient.

The inner part of the ambulance is more ergonomic. Botella highlighted that Samur professionals (physicians, nurses and technicians) participated in the design. This vehicle fleet integrates the most advanced improvements in rescue vehicles in Spain.
Madrid’s Mayor remembered that SAMUR – Civil Protection “continues being the unique Spanish service where blood analysis and ecography equipment is included in every assistance.
